[SINGAPORE] British Airways (BA) will start to operate Airbus A380 on its direct Singapore-London route from October, injecting more capacity through the double-decker jumbo jet amid strong demand.
BA currently operates two daily flights to London's Heathrow from Singapore. From end October, it will deploy its 469-seater A380 three times weekly on one of those daily flights, replacing the existing 299-seater Boeing 747, with an eye on using the A380 daily down the line.
The other flight operates daily on the "Kangaroo" route from London to Sydney (via Singapore) and will continue to use the B777-300ER.
