Ballast water issue worries shipowners
It is one of several new environmental regulations about to impact ship operations at around the same time
AS always, last week's International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) conference was well worth the long journeys many delegates had to make to attend the event in London.
Also as usual, the presentations and panel discussions covered a wide range of issues, and this column will return to some of them in the near future.
However, one broad topic dominated the day-long event. The implementation of several new regulations is concentrating minds in the industry, probably to a greater extent than ever before.
