Blue is the new green

WE ARE accustomed to associating the colour green with environmental campaigners, as in Greenpeace, but increasingly, attention is being turned towards the blue part of our planet.

The oceans cover 71 per cent of the Earth's surface and contain 97 per cent of the Earth's water, notes the Hawaii Pacific University's Oceanic Institute.

This reality is slowly being understood by politicians and to greatly varying degrees globally by the general public.
