CAAS launches two air-traffic R&D centres
MAPS is set up by CAAS in partnership with MITRE Corp of the US, and ATMRI is established with NTU

THE Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) announced on Wednesday the inauguration of the MITRE Asia Pacific Singapore (MAPS) and the Air Traffic Management Research Institute (ATMRI).
The new centres will "improve the efficiency and safety of air traffic management in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region" with the aim of developing Singapore as a "centre of excellence" for air traffic management (ATM), said CAAS in a press release.
