Car COE premiums fall

PASSENGER car certificate of entitlement (COE) premiums fell substantially in the second bidding exercise of May, with the small car category slumping by nearly S$5,000.
Category A - for cars below 1,600 cc or 130 hp - shed S$4,617 to S$46,489, while Cat B - for cars above 1,600 cc and 130 hp - was S$2,413 lower at S$53,001.
Cat E - the open category which currently tracks Cat B - dropped by S$3,000 to S$52,000.
Cat D - for motorcycles - was also down S$200 to S$6,101.
Only Cat C - for goods vehicles and buses - was higher, climbing S$4,571 to S$30,600.
