Car COE prices rise on likely quota dip ahead

CERTIFICATE of Entitlement (COE) prices finished mostly higher in the latest tender, as the market anticipates a smaller supply of COEs in the upcoming quarter starting in May.
The premium for cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp inched up 1.3 per cent to S$26,659, at the close of March's second bidding exercise on Wednesday afternoon. COE prices for cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp ended at S$39,401, a 6.6 per cent rise from S$36,961 two weeks ago.
