[SINGAPORE] Changi Airport on Friday (Nov 21) reported a 3.4 per cent year-on-year increase in passenger traffic in October.

Passenger traffic came in at 5.8 million for the month, up from 5.7 million in October 2024 and October 2019 – just before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Total traffic for the first 10 months of 2025 came in at 57.9 million passengers, up 4.2 per cent from 55.6 million for the same period a year earlier.

Air freight handling in October rose 2.5 per cent year on year to 182,000 tonnes, from 178,000 tonnes previously.

The 10-month total of 1.71 million tonnes was 3.9 per cent higher than the 1.65 million tonnes booked for the same period in 2024.

The increases in traffic figures came even as commercial aircraft movements fell 0.4 per cent year on year from about 31,300 to 31,200. This year’s commercial movements were also 2.3 per cent lower than in October 2019.

Traffic volumes at Changi Airport in 2025 were expected to exceed pre-pandemic levels, said then-transport minister Chee Hong Tat, in a Facebook post in January.
