SINGAPORE'S Changi Airport was named the world's best airport for the third straight year at the 2015 World Airport Awards following a poll of air travellers.
Changi beat out South Korea's Incheon International Airport, Germany's Munich Airport and Hong Kong International Airport for its sixth overall top title. Changi was also named the best airport for leisure amenities.
"To win this prestigious award three years in succession is a remarkable achievement for Changi Airport Singapore, and underlines its popularity amongst air travellers as the world's Best Airport," said Edward Plaisted, chief executive of airline and airport research firm Skytrax.
The award arrives as Changi is undertaking significant development projects, including a new terminal and an integrated retail and lifestyle concept called Jewel Changi Airport.
"We are excited about Changi Airport's future as we expand to serve an increasing number of passengers," Changi Airport Group chief executive Lee Seow Hiang said in a statement.
