Changi's Jewel takes shape

CHANGI Airport's iconic Jewel is taking shape as work on its glass-and-steel façade enters the last lap towards completion; it is about three-quarters completed.
The mixed-use development, comprising gardens and attractions, a hotel, aviation facilities and retail and dining facilities, will open in the first half of 2019. Its entire facade is made up of over 9,000 pieces of special glass, close to 18,000 steel beams and over 6,000 steel nodes. The entire façade will weigh more than 6,000 tonnes.
