SLOWING economy notwithstanding, US planemaker Boeing projects a demand for 6,810 new airplanes in China worth US$1.025 trillion over the next two decades, making the country the first trillion-dollar aviation market in the company's forecast.
Three quarters of those planes are expected to be single-aisle ones, as burgeoning travel demand from an emerging middle class and the corporate sector are prompting airlines to expand their networks. This translates to some 5,110 new airplanes worth US$535 billion through to 2035.
