China Railway Tunnel bags contract for Circle Line 6 Prince Edward station, tunnels

THE Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded the civil contract for Circle Line 6 (CCL6) Prince Edward Station and its associated tunnels to China Railway Tunnel Group Co (Singapore branch) at a contract sum of S$310.8 million.
This will involve the construction of the three-level underground station at Palmer Road and twin bored tunnels linking Prince Edward Station to Cantonment Station. Works are expected to commence by end-2017 and complete by 2025.
The company is one of the largest in China specialising in underground works, and has constructed several national trunk railways, highways, urban rail and public works projects across China.
Recently, it successfully completed an underpass for the Havelock Station of the Thomson-East Coast Line, and is constructing an underpass at Stevens Station of the Thomson-East Coast Line.
