COE premiums up across the board, including for motorcycles

The Land Transport Authority receives 6,854 bids in this round of bidding; 4,504 bids are successful

CERTIFICATE of entitlement (COE) premiums rose across the board in the latest round of bidding - including those for motorcycles, for which a new tiered additional registration fee (ARF) was unveiled on Monday.

The COE for motorcycles went from S$6,412 to S$6,801.

The COE for small cars (up to 1600 cc and 97kW) climbed from S$48,401 to S$49,430; that for cars above 1600 cc rose from S$48,209 to S$50,621.

Meanwhile, the premium for goods vehicles and buses edged up from S$48,901 to S$49,810. The premium for the open category rose from S$48,556 to S$51,000. Nicholas Wong, general manager for Honda distributor Kah Motor, said the premiums for cars did not go up as much as he had expected. "After t…
