[SINGAPORE] The supply of Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) for the May to July 2026 period will rise 1 per cent from the 18,824 in the previous quarter to 19,052, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Friday (Apr 24).

Bidding under this new quota will start on May 4.

Category A COE applies to mainstream cars that have engines of up to 1,600 cubic centimetres (cc) in capacity or up to 97 kilowatts (kW) of power, or electric vehicles (EVs) with up to 110 kW of power.

The quota for this category is at 7,434, a decrease of 2 per cent from the 7,585 available in the previous quarter.

The quota for Category B will increase 7 per cent to 5,205 from 4,864. This group is for larger, more powerful cars with engines of more than 1,600 cc in capacity or have more than 97 kW, or for EVs with more than 110 kW of power.

For Category C, which covers goods vehicles and buses, the quota will remain unchanged at 1,742.

Supply for Category D, for motorcycles, will decrease to 3,145 from 3,198 in the previous quarter.

Category E, the Open category which can be used for all vehicle types except motorcycles, will see its quota rise to 1,526 from 1,435.

The new quota consists of 25 per cent of replacement COEs from vehicles deregistered between April 2025 and March 2026, and a provision for annual growth of 0.25 per cent for the Category C population as at Dec 31, 2025.

It also includes adjustments for changes in taxi population, expired temporary COEs, the Early Turnover Scheme for commercial vehicles, redistribution from identified guaranteed deregistrations and injections of additional COEs, LTA said.

The LTA noted that there will be a longer interval of three weeks between the second bidding exercise of June and the first bidding exercise of July.

The next quota announcement for the bidding period of August to October 2026 will be made in July.
