DOWNTOWN Line 2, comprising 12 stops between Bukit Panjang and Bugis, will open on Dec 27. Rides will be free on Downtown Lines 1 and 2 for "a short period of time", so commuters can familiarise themselves with the stations, said Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew on Thursday.
It will also coincide with a fare reduction of up to 1.9 per cent, which was announced earlier this week.
