First delivery of The Seastar slated for 2018

PRODUCTION has started on Dornier Seawings' amphibious aircraft, The Seastar, which will reach its first customer in 2018.

There are currently 11 firm commitments from four customers in the US, Nigeria, Greece and Indonesia. The first aircraft will roll off the production line and make its way to customers in 2018 after receiving its amended Type Certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency in the second quarter of that year.
