FORD Motor Co chief executive Mark Fields said the second-largest US carmaker needs a presence in the heart of the technology industry to be a part of Northern California's innovative culture.
Mr Fields was in Palo Alto on Thursday to christen Ford's Research and Innovation centre - replete with red beanbag chairs - where the Dearborn, Michigan-based carmaker will employ 125 people by the end of the year, giving Ford one of the largest dedicated automotive research teams in the Valley.
