Grab to acquire Chinese firm Infermove to expand in AI robotics

[SINGAPORE] Grab Holdings has acquired Chinese tech company Infermove to expand in artificial intelligence-enabled robotics for food delivery.

Grab sees Infermove’s solutions will complement its first- and last-mile delivery capabilities, the Singapore-based company said in a statement Friday (Dec 19) in response to a query from Bloomberg News. Grab’s investment will help fuel Infermove’s growth, it said.

Founded in 2021 by Aaron (Yingxiang) Lu and Yuhan Long in Beijing, Infermove has launched a mixed-road autonomous driving system and a range of hardware autonomous products, including a driving armchair, a fishing feeder, an armless delivery robot, and a single-arm delivery robot.

Before the acquisition, Infermove had raised US$300,000 in its angel funding round from investors including MiraclePlus. It also signed an agreement with a subsidiary of Tieda Technology in 2024, which valued the startup at US$33 million.
