Grab locks in Trans-cab's pool of 7,000 drivers with exclusive tie-up
It will provide Trans-cab drivers with training and subsidised smartphones; move comes as LTA is looking at levelling the playing field for taxi operators

RIDE-HAILING app Grab is making its first big push into Singapore's taxi business, as the government is thinking of levelling the playing field between taxi operators and ride-booking services.
On Thursday, Grab became Singapore's second-largest taxi operator's only external app for bookings, thus entrenching itself deeper into the taxi segment by securing a driver pool.
