Head of Volkswagen's US unit steps down
Michael Horn was the company's public face in the early days of the emissions scandal; his sudden departure is the latest in a string of executive changes
New York
AS Volkswagen continues to deal with the fallout from its emissions scandal, the company announced on Wednesday that the head of its US operations, Michael Horn, was stepping down.
The sudden departure is the latest in a string of executive changes at Volkswagen since the carmaker admitted that its diesel cars contained a so-called cheat device. The software, which was installed on 11 million diesel vehicles around the world, effectively lowered emissions during testing.
