COMMUNICATIONS satellite operator Inmarsat has proposed a free global airline tracking service which will work over its network, amid strident calls for enhanced aviation safety measures in the wake of Malaysia Airlines MH370's disappearance.
The proposal was made to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and announced by Inmarsat ahead of an ICAO conference on aircraft tracking due to take place in Montreal yesterday.
