Japan's ANA to buy at least 77 aircraft from Boeing, Airbus, Embraer
ANA plans to acquire 30 aircraft from Boeing, 27 from Airbus, and 20 from Embraer
JAPAN’S ANA Holdings said on Tuesday (Feb 25) it would spend about 2.1 trillion yen (S$18.7 billion) to purchase at least 77 aircraft to replenish its fleet.
ANA plans to acquire 30 aircraft from Boeing, 27 from Airbus, and 20 from Embraer, it said in a news release. The expected delivery of the planes is between 2028 and 2033.
The airline operator said in a separate statement that the order reflected an expected increase in passenger demand, including from overseas visitors, to Japan.
Growth in tourism to Japan has exploded in recent years, with the number of annual visitors reaching record numbers.
The company, which operates both the flagship ANA carrier and the low-cost Peach airline, said it expects its fleet size to be at around 320 aircraft by the 2030 financial year. REUTERS
