BUDGET carrier Jetstar Asia, which has been grounded since March 23, will reintroduce limited services to Manila, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur from Tuesday.

The budget carrier said it will operate a temporary network consisting of five return services a week from Singapore to the three South-east Asian cities until September. The services will be made available only to Singapore citizens and permanent residents who are returning home, or those with written approval for travel, Jetstar highlighted.

In a statement on Monday, Jetstar Asia said: "On board, safety remains our first priority and while the risk of contracting Covid-19 on an aircraft is regarded as low, passenger numbers will be reduced to allow for safe distancing and onboard services will be scaled back with only water being served during the flight."

Passengers will be expected to wear a mask at all times as will crew members, who will also don personal protective equipment (PPE) in line with guidelines.

Flights to and from Manila will operate on Tuesdays; flights to and from Bangkok will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Flights to and from Kuala Lumpur are scheduled on Thursdays and Sundays. The outbound flight from Singapore to Bangkok on Wednesdays and Saturdays will carry only cargo.
