EXPERIA Events, which organises the Singapore Airshow, has named aviation industry veteran Leck Chet Lam as its new managing director.
Mr Leck, is the former senior vice-president (fleet management & marketing) at SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC). He takes over from Jimmy Lau, Singapore's best-known and long-serving aviation show organiser, who is retiring after 34 years in the exhibition and convention industry.
Mr Lau, who has helmed Experia Events since its inception in 2005, was the co-founder of Singapore's first budget carrier Valuair, and has long been known for his role in organising airshows in Singapore. Under his leadership, Experia Events has grown to manage other exhibitions and events as well, including international maritime defence exhibition IMDEX Asia and the Singapore International Water Week.
