CRUISE ship operator Royal Caribbean will homeport a S$1.37 billion cruise ship in Singapore for a season next year, which is expected to give the local cruise industry a lift through an additional 42,000 guests.
Ovation of the Seas is the biggest cruise ship to come to Singapore at 347 metres long with a capacity of more than 4,900 guests. Aside from high-speed WiFi, the 18-deck smart-ship boasts a number of features to keep travellers busy while at sea, including an observation capsule which rises 92 metres over the ocean, a Bionic Bar where robots serve cocktails, indoor skydiving, bumper cars and an S$18.5 million hi-tech entertainment venue.
