Malaysia's Westports posts record throughput in 9 months
Port operator's Q3 profit rises 16% to RM151m on the back of 18% increase in revenues to RM474.4m

MALAYSIA'S Westports Holdings Bhd will begin expansion of a new container terminal after recording an all-time high throughput of 7.4 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) in the nine months to September 2016.
Volume improved for transhipment as well as gateway containers shipped for domestic purposes, said the port operator. It reported 16 per cent rise in profit for the third quarter to RM151 million (S$49.47 million) on the back of an 18 per cent improvement in revenues to RM474.4 million.
