MAS posts Q3 loss of RM576m

MALAYSIA Airlines' passenger load factor has fallen to 73 per cent. The airline said this on Friday as it posted wider losses of RM576 million (S$221 million) for the third quarter, amid the passing of a special legislation this week for a new entity to take over its operations.
Passenger loads fell by 11.5 percentage points in the three months to end September on the back of intensifying competition as well as the disasters involving two of its aircraft. At the same time, MAS said, the demand for domestic travel had weakened.
