AN F-16 fighter jet and a small civilian aircraft collided in mid-air on Tuesday near Charleston, South Carolina, with the pilot of the jet safely ejecting from the aircraft, according to an Air Force spokeswoman.
The authorities on Tuesday afternoon could not confirm the condition of the pilot of the other aircraft, a Cessna C150. They were also unable to say if any other passengers were on board the two-seat aircraft. Federal authorities are investigating the crash.
