Minister urges aviation sector to continue raising productivity
Josephine Teo says labour market is tight and cost pressures may not go away
Singapore
WITH modest passenger growth again expected this year, the aviation sector must continue to raise productivity against the backdrop of a tight labour market and persistent cost pressures, said Josephine Teo, Senior Minister of State for Finance and Transport.
"The labour market remains tight and cost pressures are unlikely to go away. It is therefore important for us to continue to raise the productivity level of the aviation sector, and to help businesses make the transition to innovation-driven growth," said Mrs Teo, speaking at the inaugural Aviation Productivity Conference 2015 on Wednesday. The conference was organised by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
