More COEs in pipeline, final quota unclear

Will there be a COE boom in 2015? If so, what are the challenges for distributors?

In our view, the total car market will be in the range of 50,000 to 60,000 vehicles in 2015 - significantly more than the 33,000 this year but perhaps not exactly the "boom" that some consumers may be expecting.

Towards the second half of 2014, we saw renewed buyer interest in mass market car models, and this will continue to be the trend next year.

The main challenge all major car brands face is to be able to scale up the business in light of the bigger car market, yet to do so in a sustainable way.
