Nio delivers 37,705 vehicles in May, up 62.3% year on year
Cumulative deliveries hit 1.1 million as at end-May
[SINGAPORE] Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio delivered 37,705 vehicles in May, a 62.3 per cent year-on-year increase.
This brought its number of vehicles delivered in the year to date to 150,526, a 68.7 per cent year-on-year rise.
Cumulative deliveries hit 1.1 million as at end-May, the company said on Monday (Jun 1) in its delivery update for the month.
Deliveries for the month comprised 20,013 vehicles from the Nio brand, 12,029 vehicles from the Onvo brand and 5,663 vehicles from the Firefly brand.
New launches
Nio launched its smart flagship five-seat sport utility vehicle (SUV) Onvo L80 on May 15, with deliveries starting from May 16.
The L80 features innovative space design, flagship smart technologies, and a comprehensive charging and battery-swopping network to address user needs in space, travel scenarios and power solutions, noted the company.
On May 27, Nio launched the ES9, its flagship executive SUV, with deliveries beginning from May 28.
As a product from the intelligent electric executive flagship SUV segment, the ES9 features smart technologies, executive-level space and comfort. It also comes with a full-domain 900 volt high-voltage architecture, alongside Nio’s charging and battery-swopping network.
The group added that its Nio All-New ES8, launched in September 2025, ranked No 1 in sales among models priced above 400,000 yuan (S$75,611) across all energy types for five consecutive months, as at May.
Nio shares closed on Friday 3.6 per cent or US$0.20 lower at US$5.44.
