    INTERNATIONAL teams scouring the Java Sea off Indonesia for the missing AirAsia passenger jet failed to find any trace for a second day as darkness fell and the authorities said the plane likely crashed into the water.

    An earlier report of a sighting of an object spotted by an Australian surveillance aircraft during a sea search was found to be unrelated to the missing plane.
