OUT of about 150 incidents in Japan's airports and other aviation facilities in which laser beams were emitted towards cockpits, more than 60 per cent occurred while the aircraft were coming in for a landing, it has been learned.
Self-Defence Forces' (SDF) aircraft have also been the target of similar laser-beam incidents. However, no restrictions have been imposed in Japan on the possession and use of laser pointers.
