THE Singapore Rail Academy will develop a new generation of rail engineers, whose numbers are expected to surge by more than 60 per cent to 15,000 by 2030.
Today's rail engineers have an even more complicated job than the one the pioneering engineers faced in 1982, when the government decided to build an MRT system, said Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport Khaw Boon Wan.
