From reality to virtual: 3D training 'classroom'
[SINGAPORE] Imagine checking an aircraft for fuel leaks, testing landing lights within the cockpit and removing blanks and streamers all without coming into contact with an aircraft. This will be possible with the help of the Aviation Maintenance Trainer (AMT).
It is an immersive 3D training system for aircraft maintenance crew that can give an exact but virtual representation of an aircraft and its equipment.
Together with virtual reality software provider EON Reality and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) company MAJ Aviation, Aviation Virtual has fronted the project since two months ago. Aviation Virtual provides virtual reality training solutions and is a subsidiary of MAJ Aviation, a local small and medium-sized enterprise (SME).
