Scoot's 14th Dreamliner touched down at Changi Airport on Friday at around 5pm (Singapore time), after the budget carrier took delivery of the Boeing 787-8 aircraft from plane-maker Boeing's delivery centre in Everett on Thursday morning (US time). With this, the low-cost airline now has two B787s kitted out with crew bunk beds, which will enable the launch of long-haul operations to Athens from June. Lee Lik Hsin (left), chief executive of Budget Aviation Holdings, and Dinesh A Keskar, Boeing's senior vice-president for sales for the Asia-Pacific and India, took photocalls for the event in Seattle. Scoot plans to launch a second route by year-end, with Honolulu touted as one potential destination, and aims to operate three to four long-haul routes within the next two to three years. It is currently studying locations in Europe as well, such as Berlin and Vienna.
