SIA to restart direct flights to New York in October
It will ply the route using the ultra-long-range version of the A350-900 jet; carrier says strong traffic growth between North America and South-east Asia spells growth opportunities
Singapore
FIVE years after it pulled the plug on direct flights to New York, Singapore Airlines will operate this, the world's longest flight, once again: It will fly non-stop to the Big Apple from Oct 11, using the ultra-long-range (ULR) variant of the A350-900.
As it takes delivery of more A350-900ULRs, it is expected to also launch direct services to Los Angeles and to one other city in the United States, as yet unnamed.
