SILKAIR has plans to launch direct flights to Cairns from end-May next year, which would make the route its second destination in Australia after Darwin.

The addition of Cairns - which is dependent on regulatory approvals - will bump up SilkAir's network to 49 destinations across 12 countries. SilkAir is the regional wing of Singapore Airlines.
