AIRCRAFT operating leasing company BOC Aviation inked a deal to buy 12 Geared Turbofans (GTF) from engine supplier Pratt & Whitney at the Singapore Airshow on Tuesday.
The turbofans, which are touted to be fuel-efficient, will be used to power the new Airbus A320NEO family aircraft. The first such aircraft arrived at BOC Aviation last year.
Both companies declined to comment on the list price of the deal.
BOC Aviation's latest purchase comes as it celebrates 20 years of business with Pratt & Whitney.
"We anticipate many more years of continued success working together to support the fleet," said Robert Martin, managing director and chief executive of BOC Aviation.
