Small and big car COE premiums higher

SMALL and big car certificate of entitlement (COE) premiums spiked up as replacement buyers converged on showrooms last week.
Category A - for cars below 1,600cc and 130 hp - jumped S$4,211 to S$61,410, while Cat B - for cars above 1,600cc or 130 hp - rose S$1,917 to S$68,668.
Cat E - the open category which currently tracks Cat B - was S$2,599 higher at S$70,500.
Cat C - for goods vehicles - was also up by S$3,299 to S$56,501.
Only Cat D - for motorcycles - was S$299 lower at S$5,501, down from an all-time high of S$5,800.
