THE International Air Transport Association (Iata) has called for the Indian government to re-evaluate cumbersome regulations and high costs levied on its domestic airlines as the sector remains poised to turn in an overall loss this year.

Among them are rules restraining new entrants to the market when it comes to international operations, which hinder recent entrants such as Singapore Airlines-Tata joint venture, Vistara.
