Squaring up for COP26

The shipping industry aims to push governments to double the ambition of the IMO's current target to zero carbon by 2050

IF SOMEBODY really wanted to be mischievous, they would have put a spell over energy prices just as the great and good get themselves ready to fly off to Glasgow to attend COP26.

Strangely enough natural gas prices have indeed hit the roof. In Europe, a fourfold increase since earlier in the year is being reported. At the same time crude oil prices have continued to rise.

In some countries, the United Kingdom among them, there is little short of panic among energy consuming industries.
