Tata-SIA carrier gets air operator permit

NEW Indian carrier Vistara has been granted the Air Operator Permit (AOP) by India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation, nearly nine months after the airline applied for the licence to begin commercial operations in the country.
Vistara, also known as Tata SIA Airlines Limited, is a joint venture start-up between Singapore Airlines (SIA) and India's Tata Sons. The latter holds a majority stake of 51 per cent while SIA has the the remaining 49 per cent.
