LOGISTICS major UPS is rolling out an advanced telematics system for its Singapore delivery fleet. The sensor- based system will track and transmit more than 200 vehicle-related elements - ranging from a driver's speed, number of reverses made, time spent idling or stopping, to how often the brakes are applied, and other data - to data warehouse computers for analysis using a software programme developed in-house.
Singapore is the first market in Asia Pacific to roll out UPS's telematics system and it has been installed across the company's entire fleet of vans and trucks in the country.
