US plane re-routed to Canada after turbulence injures seven
[MONTREAL] An American Airlines plane en route from Miami to Milan had to be re-routed to Canada on Sunday after turbulence left seven people injured, the company said.
Flight AA206, which departed Miami at 3.03pm local time (2003 GMT) was forced to land at Saint-Jean Airport in Newfoundland, American Airlines said in a statement.
Canadian broadcaster CBC reported that the plane was carrying 192 passengers and 11 crew members.
Seven people were taken to the hospital upon landing, including four passengers and three crew members, the CBC said.
