Two Lian Beng IDs resign over differences with management

TWO Lian Beng Group independent directors - Wan Soon Bee and Sitoh Yih Pin - have resigned on Friday with immediate effect. Lian Beng said that they resigned "due to differences in opinion from the management over certain company affairs".

Mr Sitoh - who is Member of Parliament for Potong Pasir - also resigned as chairman of the remuneration committee and a member of the audit and nominating committees.

Mr Wan also resigned as chairman of the audit and nominating committees and a member of the remuneration committee. Dr Wan was a minister of state in the Prime Minister's Office between 1983 and 1985.

Lian Beng appointed Ko Chuan Aun, president of KOP Ltd, as an independent director. Earlier this week, it also appointed Low Beng Tin, executive director of OEL Holdings, as an independent director.
