LIAN Beng Group on Friday announced that two of its independent directors have resigned with immediate effect "due to differences in opinion" with the board.
They are Sitoh Yih Pin, who is also Member of Parliament from Potong Pasir, and Wan Soon Bee, who was last chairman of the group's audit and nominating committee. Mr Sitoh was formerly chairman of the remuneration committee.
Dr Wan was a minister of state at the Prime Minister's Office between 1983 and 1985.
Lian Beng in its announcements said the two independent directors left "due to differences in opinion from the management over certain company affairs".
The group appointed Ko Chuan Aun, executive director of KOP Limited, to the board. Earlier this week, it also appointed Low Beng Tin, executive director of OEL Holdings, to the board.
