LOOKING back at the first half of 2020, global markets saw a roller coaster ride which saw fear arising due to Covid-19 peaking in late March where most stock markets fell to recent year lows after a solid performance in 2019.

However, going into the second quarter in 2020, market sentiments seem to be supported by various factors.

Such factors include potential breakthrough in medical research for vaccines and treatments, extensive stimulus from governments around the world, lesser than feared economic impact to retail and jobs data, as well as technology sectors which benefited from the situation that resulted in the quick rebound of stock markets off the lows.
