Unilever appoints new head for S-E Asia and Australia
UNILEVER has appointed a new president for the region of South-east Asia and Australasia.
Pier Luigi Sigismondi will take over from Peter Ter Kulve who is moving to a new role. Based in Singapore, Mr Sigismondi will be responsible for one of Unilever's most dynamic and fast-growing regions comprising Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and Australasia.
Paul Polman, chief executive of Unilever, said: "I am extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Pier Luigi to this role. His experience in business strategy and supply chain will undoubtedly be an asset to the dynamic SEAA (South-east Asia-Australasia) region."
Prior to this role, Mr Sigismondi was chief supply chain officer where he led a global operation consisting of 240 industrial sites delivering goods across 190 country operations. In the role, he was accountable for Unilever's end-to-end value chain and created one of the best supply chains in the FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) industry.
The appointment is effective immediately.
