US: S&P 500, Nasdaq open higher after inflation data; focus on bank earnings
[NEW YORK] The Nasdaq and the S&P 500 opened higher on Tuesday (Jul 15) after fresh inflation data, while banking heavyweights kicked off the second-quarter earnings season.
At 09.30 am ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 11.63 points, or 0.03 per cent, to 44,471.28.
The S&P 500 gained 32.72 points, or 0.53 per cent, to 6,301.28 and the Nasdaq Composite gained 195.02 points, or 0.95 per cent, to 20,835.34. REUTERS
