US: Wall St mixed at open as sticky inflation hampers bumper rate-cut bets
WALL Street’s main indexes were mixed at the open on Wednesday (Sep 11) as uncertainty about the Federal Reserve’s interest rate path increased following the latest inflation data.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 98.2 points, or 0.24 per cent, at the open to 40,638.76.
The S&P 500 fell 0.9 point, or 0.02 per cent, at the open to 5,496.42, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 35.5 points, or 0.21 per cent, to 17,061.406 at the opening bell. REUTERS
